Videographer/Photographer/Editor (Public Affairs) Job at General Dynamics Information Technology

GDIT is looking for a detail oriented, personable, multi-tasking Videographer/Photographer/Editor to join our team to support a Department of the Army Public Affairs Office.
This position is based in Frederick, Maryland.
In this role you will:
- Partner with organizational stakeholders to identify key program initiatives to produce engaging, informative and professional command message-driven photos and videos for public release.
- Produce and edit photos and videos for multipurpose use across official websites and social media.
- Identify key command messaging from higher and adjacent Public Affairs activities for integration in photos and videos for public release across official websites and social media.
- Track distribution and spread of publicly released photos and videos to measure success of Public Affairs Office communication efforts.
- Coordinate efforts with Public Affairs Office personnel to integrate command messaging in publicly released photos and videos.
- Communicate daily with both Public Affairs Office and command leadership to identify key organizational initiatives and programs for photo and video production opportunities.
- Coordinate with Public Affairs Office personnel to sync efforts, maintain uniform command messaging and branding, and maximize public release opportunities for all approved content.
- Maintain logical, orderly and user-friendly archive of content for use by both Public Affairs Office personnel and command stakeholders.
- Professional communication and correspondence with organizational leadership for review and revision of photos, videos and written copy for public release.
- Provide photography, videography and media editing expertise for organizational stakeholders.
- Seek opportunities for photo and video support within the command while adhering to Department of Defense Public Affairs standards of Security, Accuracy, Propriety and Policy while meeting the goal of “Maximum Disclosure, Minimum Delay.”
- Comply with all federal, state and local Public Affairs policies, procedures and initiatives.
- Develop and upload content on the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service (DVIDS), Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Partner with organizational stakeholders to plan and design content for the Command’s website.
- Produce professional, engaging photos, videos and written copy for public release while engaging with stakeholders and customers within the Department of Defense and civilian organization industries.
- Provide administrative and photo and video production support during trade Shows and professional conferences.
- Serve as Public Affairs subject matter expert and coordinate media engagement opportunities for Department of Defense and organizational stakeholders and employees.
- Form partnerships and maintain strong relationships with U.S. Army organizational Public Affairs and communication professionals and command leadership.
- Seek opportunities to develop and manage special projects as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, or a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
- Successful completion of the Defense Information School (DINFOS) video and/or photography courses or corporate course equivalent.
- 2+ years of related media support experience within the Department of Defense and/or corporate organization(s).
- Have experience using the following video editing software: Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder.
- Have experience with the following word processing, photographic and graphics editing software: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to successfully communicate with personnel at various echelons using effective interpersonal and communication skills in addition to managing numerous efforts and effectively prioritizing and multi-tasking requirements.
- Willing to Travel (10-15%)
- Must be U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a T1.
