Opportunity
The StartX Virtual Program Logistics position represents the opportunity to work with a world-class team of designers, project managers, and data analysts who together construct StartX's offerings and who aim to be the world’s preeminent provider of virtual experiential entrepreneurship education. Combine your project management and virtual event skills with your passion for empowering the Stanford community to solve real-world problems, and create opportunities for optimal collaboration, training, and development of 1300+ of Stanford's best entrepreneurs across 650+ companies. The main objectives for this role include:- Leveraging and refining your project management skills in order to constantly improve StartX's virtual event and system capabilities as measured by high-quality output from you and the Programs team.
- Executing high quality virtual events, mentorship and access to resources in order to move the needle for our StartX companies
- Taking an evidence-first and measurement-driven attitude toward optimizing for lasting impact over short term results, and reflecting this attitude in how we implement systems, prioritize our time, and interact with other projects across StartX.
- Contributing to a team culture centered around transparency, feedback, accountability, and personal growth, and one that relies on high-quality process to achieve results.
Responsibilities
Virtual Program Management
- Maximize the outcomes of virtual projects impacting our founders through effective planning, preparation, communication, schedule management, goal setting, forecasting, and contingency planning.
- Ensure accountability for high-quality outcomes delivered ahead of deadlines
- Proactively facilitate alignment of StartX's core values and organizational objectives with our customers' greatest needs to guide decision-making and execution.
- Ensure the delivery of lasting reusable work across StartX's Programs and minimize the frequency of one-off or one-time results.
- Drive virtual event logistics for all virtual events, ensuring a positive experience for participants
- Meet regularly with founders who are onboarding to the community to ensure they are meeting their Learning Goals
- Understand the reasons why certain metrics are indicators of StartX's long-term success, and championing a metrics-driven approach toward decision-making
A Day in the Life
- Review participant feedback from a recent virtual event and document learnings for future events
- Assign mentors to new community members based on mentor strengths and founder learning goals
- Meet with newly admitted start-up founders to review upcoming key dates and to deeply understand their learning goals
- As Project Coordinator for projects of your own, pre-schedule emails to event participants
- Meet with our software engineers to prioritize tech automation projects
Role Metrics - no surprise here!
- Weekly: Response time to participant emails
- Monthly: Participant response to whether StartX "moves the needle" for their company
- Quarterly: Founder Satisfaction Feedback
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing complex virtual projects to clear, measurable outcomes
- An understanding of and ability to leverage project management best practices in order to meet program outcomes
- An ability and willingness to hold others accountable for meeting expectations and role metrics
