• SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT

This position will be responsible for providing special education services to students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment, which may be inclusion within the regular classroom or pull-out in the resource room.

• RESPONSIBILITIES

• Essential Functions
• Provide Direct Instruction and Assessment to students with disabilities in accordance with Individual Education Plans.
• Provide case management services to ensure compliance with procedural requirements for IEPs.
• Provide consultation service to the regular classroom teachers as it relates to special education in inclusive settings.
• Provide technical assistance to staff, students, and parents regarding the special education process including parent and student rights, referral, evaluation, and implementation of special education services.
• Function as an effective member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
• Design and implement Student Individual Education Plans (IEPs) with an emphasis on behavior and counseling goals and objectives.
• Maintain Special Education records and files for children with disabilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Demonstrate knowledge of student and parental rights and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding such rights.
• Demonstrate an enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
• Must possess proficient organization skills.
• Must possess effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and manage an active and supportive learning environment which includes multiple instructional demands.
• Ability to adjust teaching style according to individual student learning styles.
• Ability to monitor student behavior and provide de-escalation and intervention strategies when needed.

  SALARY$51,928 - $102,677 dependent upon education and experience
