Position Summary

• The Order Picker is responsible for picking and packing orders as directed accurately and within a timely manner.
• Other responsibilities include being a team player and following directions as given.

• Accurately picking orders
• Use handheld barcode scanners while picking to ensure correct item is picked and inventory levels are accurate
• Packing products effectively to ensure they will not be damaged during transportation; includes banding and wrapping pallets and skids
• Packers should verify counts/measures on all orders received from pickers to ensure accuracy
• Find proper sized box for order, cutting as well as folding to correct dimensions if necessary.
• Packaging order contents to allow the box to close securely, protecting all products
• Place package onto correct cart so it can be shipped
• Perform cycle counts and physical inventory count as required, alert manager or supervisor of any inventory discrepancies
• Build pallets and skids when necessary
• Measure and cut units of certain items to match customer specifications.
• Operate forklift while picking and to load outgoing trucks
• Cross-training in multiple areas of the warehouse and participating in projects as needed.
• Perform housekeeping and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

• Ability to use hand tools and operate a forklift, on the job training can be provided
• Mechanical aptitude
• Capability to use heavy loading machinery as trained and directed
• Basic reading skills (English)
• Attention to detail
• Good verbal communication skills
• Determined ability to learn

• Wear safety gear as required for job tasks
• Physical stamina and agility to stand, bend, and lift items up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to be on your feet for up to 8 hr. Shifts
• Must be able to withstand a hot or cold warehouse depending on outside temperatures.

Preferred background:

• Distribution center or warehouse experience
• Experience using a forklift to fulfill orders
• High School Diploma or GED

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
