Position Summary
Due to the growth and expansion of the company. Benson Hill Seeds is seeking a Warehouse Manager. The role will be responsible for warehouse operations. This role will be responsible for following company best practices while being hands-on in warehouse operations processes. A successful candidate should thrive in a fast paced, high volume environment in the agricultural space. This role will be located at our warehouse and office in Bondurant. Iowa.
You Will:
(Essential Duties and Responsibilities)
As a Warehouse Manager, you'll contribute to the success of a warehouse by coordinating the receiving, seed treating, shipping, and material handling responsibilities in the warehouse. You'll design and develop product movement and storage systems, improve operations, and support the front line staff. Responsibilities include cost efficiency, continuous improvement on processes, service, and safety.
Major Tasks, Accountabilities and Key Responsibilities:

• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and aligning with legal regulations
• Maintain quality standards of finished product
• Achieves operational objectives by contributing warehouse operations information and recommendations to strategic plans
• Reviews and prepares any action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met
• Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, safety and communication.
• Develops and motivates team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
• Communicates and collaborates cross-functionally to assist team to solve operational issues
• Develops warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements
• Develops processes for receiving product, equipment utilization, seed treating, inventory management, gate processes (check in/out), and shipping
• Develops and implements warehouse operations system improvements by leading continuous improvement projects as assigned and by analyzing process work flow, manning and space requirements, and equipment layout
• Troubleshoots all receiving and shipping complaints to find the cause, help resolve the issue, and prevent reoccurrence
• You'll have will be hands on and occasionally required to lift up to 60 lbs.
• This role will operate forklift and other equipment
• Collaborate with the Benson Hill Seeds, sales, ingredients, and operations teams
• Perform other related duties, as assigned

You Have:
Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Agricultural Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or another related field is preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years warehouse experience is highly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years experience in business operations

Software/Skillset

• Excellent communications skills (verbal, email, written)
• Competent to proficient skill level for Microsoft Word, Smart Sheets and PowerPoint
• Proficient skill level for Microsoft Excel, WMS and other required business systems

Other

• Ability to work productively and efficiently in a team setting
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
• Ability to multi-task
• Willing to learn and adaptable to change
• Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical skills
• Ability to work flexible hours and long hours during peak season
