JOB DESCRIPTION

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for all freight received into and/or shipped out of the dry dock facility, as well as freight control inside the warehouse. Overall responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy of freight movement, meeting deadlines, and improving processes.

The company will rely on the Warehouse Manager to improve the department and help develop new strategies that streamline processes and reduce costs. This will require him/her to be present on the loading dock floor while leveraging their ability to perform some metric reporting and data analysis to identify issues and opportunities for process improvements.

The warehouse manager will be required to create written procedures, while being able to implement and enforce the procedures.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

• Organize and monitor the storage and delivery of freight.
• Oversee the flow of freight.
• Ensure that the right freight is delivered to that right location, on time.
• Act as a point of contact between the sales and warehouse department
• Problem-solve issues as they arise.
• Improve processes for the warehouse department.
• Control and manage all inventory processes and issues as needed (Cycle counts, reconciliation, pushback hauls, As Is, etc...)
• Ensure warehouse duties are being completed (Cardboard, Styrofoam)
• Load and unload trucks as needed.
• Interview and select employees, discipline, evaluate, and motivate the warehouse personnel.
• Team with General Manager (as needed) for disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employees.
• Develop and hold the staff accountable.

Qualifications:

• US work authorization (Required)
• Bachelor's (Preferred)
• Supervising Experience: 5 years (Preferred)
• Logistics: 5 years (Preferred)
• Transportation management: 5 years (Preferred)
• Shipping & receiving: 5 years (Preferred)
• Forklift Certification (Preferred)
• Working knowledge of logistics and inventory software
• Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task, with strong-time management skills.
• Motivator of people; ability to work well in a team.
• Proactive thinker, exceptional logic reasoning and problem-solving skill set
• Competent writing and communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical info.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to lift 30-50 pounds.
• Work up to a 10-hour workday: standing/walking most of the day.
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
• Exposure to temperatures: < 32 degrees Fahrenheit
• Ability to work in wet and dry conditions.
• Ability to work Monday-Friday, weekends when needed.
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
