Position

SAS has an opening for a Warehouse Shipping Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversees and evaluates all activities of the dock and dock employees, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading of all freight.
• Work with management to develop short and long term strategies for warehousing.
• Communicate with Order Puller and Shipping Leads regularly to understand the status of warehousing operations and to provide guidance and direction.
• Create and develop written procedures and training materials for the warehouse.
• Coordinate and communicate with other department managers to identify and resolve operational issues.
• Assist in managing employee hours to stay in compliance of company standards.
• Involved in all aspects of inventory control to achieve company goals.
• Assesses efficiency and performance of Shipping and Order Pulling activities; identifies and recommends improvements to shift, department, and facility.
• Manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Order and maintain supplies to sufficient levels.
• Develop and maintain a 5S program that will be monitored and sustained
• Must be willing to assist and help direct all departments within the distribution center.
• Must be experienced in leading groups to achieve company goals.
• Ensures the timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
• Safety champion who encourages and inspires other workers to make positive changes that help create and maintain a safe and healthy workplace.
• Able to learn and understand all Domestic and International Shipments.
• Responsible for analyzing data to assist in efficiencies.

• Product Expert: Be the expert in the field by maintaining a comprehensive understanding of shipping best practices, and the Pacejet shipping software.
• Customer Service: Demonstrate exceptional customer service. Going above and beyond for external and internal customers is the ONLY option.
• Time Management: Complete all client implementations and training according to department standards and project scope as well as able to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively. Create goals with standards.
• Creativity: You will be expected to continuously provide unique ideas and solutions to improve our product, process, and overall client experience
• Effective Communication: The ability to communicate effectively with employees and third-party vendors
• Professionalism: The Supervisor must conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times and be comfortable in both a leadership and team-player role

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Must be able to walk/stand for 8 – 10 hours.

Education & Experience Requirements

• 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
• Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel).
• Experience with ERP in a warehouse environment is required. (Microsoft Dynamics 365 or AX is a plus).
  • Learn and understand the new ERP system in order to develop efficient and effective processes for warehousing and material handling.
  • Work with management and outside consultants to help coordinate the setup and operations of the new ERP system.
• Experience with shipping software.
• Experience with training and writing training documents.
• Experience with RF stocking and receiving/ picking and shipping.
• Fluent in conversational Spanish is very helpful, but not a job requirement
