Warehouse Worker-Mid Level to join a high-profile and challenging project supporting the US Navy. This position provides integration, acquisition, and technical support for US Military and other US contracts around the world.
The Warehouse Worker-Mid Level , ensures mission essential items are delivered, shipped, received, tracked, and inventoried. This position is responsible for issuing items from and receiving items into Costpoint, properly inventorying, preparing items for shipment, and delivering shipments to different.
As the Warehouse Worker-Mid Level,you will perform the following typical tasks:
- Receiving, unpacking, checking, and storing merchandise or materials.
- Being familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures including operating a forklift.
- Performing vehicle equipment inspection daily; including lights, brakes, mirrors, steering and other required operative equipment.
- Recommending and scheduling mechanical repairs as needed and adheres to safety practices.
- Having knowledge of the standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the warehouse and transportations fields.
- Completing a variety of tasks while relying on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Safely drive company vehicles to deliver product on time which includes loading, unloading, and delivery of parts with efficiency.
- Tracking and verification of all customer deliveries while providing excellent customer service
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have a High School Diploma OR Equivalent, willing to work second or third shifts, a clean driving record and more than 40 hours work weeks as needed.
- Pass a background investigation, drug screening and able to gain access to various Naval facilities and shipyards. This position supports a U.S. Government Contract whose terms require Serco to staff it only with U.S. Citizens.
- Be able to perform basic vehicle inspections; brakes, lights, mirrors, and other operative equipment.
- Have warehouse experience, to include: delivering material, performing inventory, staging, packing, storage and shipping of electronic equipment and related material; operating motor vehicles and material handling equipment; and utilizing a computer-based inventory and bar-coding system for entry, identification and tracking of material.
- Keep shop and work area clean, safe, and organized.
