Job Purpose Summary:

• The Wastewater Technician is a direct labor position within the Wastewater/Lab Team whose responsibilities are the treatment of waste from processes, chemical analysis of tank compositions, filtration, and changing chemical or solution in the chemical tanks, and neutralizing solids from the chemical tanks and known practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• The employee is responsible for treating waste from processes and chemical waste, chemical analysis of tank compositions, filtration and changing chemicals or solutions in the chemical tanks, neutralizing solids from the chemical tanks, maintaining the chemical tanks, and the waste treatment area.
• Understand and follow standard operating procedures (SOP) as assigned to the team to assure your job duties are performed in a consistent, reliable, and timely manner.
• Ability to multitask and communicate to management in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of assigned areas.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Qualifications:

• Willing and able to work non-production hours as necessary.
• Basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication skills in order to process inventory, counting, time allocation, and work hours.
• Ability to read and comprehend internal documents such as work order travelers, inventory records, logs, and general company records.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Must be able to multitask and work under stress
• Basic computer skills.
• Must complete 24hour Health and Safety Training for Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility Worker.

Safety:

• The employee will be trained in the safety requirements of Pentagon Technologies. The employee is to meet and assure that all safety requirements are followed while performing assigned duties within the plant. A good understanding and consistent use of appropriate PPE, basic maintenance safety regulations (such as lock-out/tag-out policies), removing or repairing inadequate or potentially unsafe equipment, recognizing unsafe practices that may occur within the plant environment, and reporting to operational staff, are required.

Work Environment:

• Must be able to function well in an office environment. Must be able to perform in noisy, moist, or wet environments with standard protection devices. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding to perform essential tasks. Must be able to handle necessary tools to perform tasks, including a variety of meters, sensors, fluid and or air/gas monitors, and heavy equipment that will need to be towed or moved through the production environment with little assistance.

Physical Demands:

• Must be ok with wearing PPE. Ability to move heavy object. Must Pass Company required screening tests. Must be able to pass respirator health and fit testing. Must be in reasonably-fit condition to climb tank ladders and ladders to lower level sump area in waste treatment areas. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach with hands and arms, and perform light lifting duties (up to 50 pounds) without assistance, push or pull heavy loads (up to 750 lbs) with basic material handling equipment, and perform walk-throughs in production and service areas continuously.
