Water Treatment Technician Job at Chappell Supply & Equipment
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Water Treatment Technician performs mechanical installations and technical work on various Water Treatment Equipment which includes:
- *ØBio-Systems Ø*Reverse Osmosis Systems *Ø* Mechanical Filtration Systems *ØOil/Water Separators ØAir Compressors
- *ØOther industrial equipment including Pressure Washers Ø*Car-Wash Equipment *Ø* Parts Washers* and Ø*Custom Fluid Movement Systems*
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Technician must work to gain experience and knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment used in the installation and repair of all specialized equipment sold by the Company.
- The Technician will be required to submit to the Water Treatment Manager on a timely basis, all necessary records for job cost allocation making sure all reports submitted are complete and accurate.
- Must be able to pass a pulmonary fit test (respirator) immediately.
- Help maintain a system of internal controls and operating procedures that will protect assets from theft, loss, or unnecessary depreciation.
- This position will promote the standards for integrity, ethics, and job performance of the Company and maintain superior customer satisfaction.
- At various times, the Technician will be required to work before and after normal business hours to attend various employee meetings and training sessions.
- Overnight, multi-night and some weekend travel will be necessary.
- Maintain procedures and processes in order to ensure compliance with Company’s quality standards.
- Attend all training and refresher courses required for the position set out by the Company.
- This is considered a safety sensitive position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Have general knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trade works.
- Must be able to interpret/learn to interpret MEP drawings and/or blueprints efficiently and accurately.
- Must work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Have the ability to work well and communicate with contractors, subcontractors, and job-site supervisors.
- Have a stable work history.
- Be able to diagnose mechanical defects and comprehend technical verbal and written communications.
- Experience in HVAC or plumbing preferred but not necessary.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to understand opposing points of view on highly complex issues and to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints.
- Able to see and read computer monitors and be able to detect specific noises, proper equipment operation and understand what others are saying.
- Be able to work outside in all elements.
- Be able to stand and move about regularly.
- Be able to frequently move parts and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Be able to use upper extremities to frequently press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or upward.
- Ascending or descending ladders to move merchandise.
- Be able to use upper extremities to frequently exert force in order to draw, drag, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Frequently bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
- Be able to coordinate movement of the fingers and hands to grasp, move parts and have the adequate dexterity and strength to complete tasks.
- Able to compute, analyze and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of communication orally with others accurately.
- Ability to make informal presentations, inside and/or outside the organization.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be detail oriented.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and record, balance, and check results for accuracy.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $38,000.00 per year
