We have an exciting opportunity for an Web Application Software Development Lead to join our team with Teammate company, Mb Solutions.

As a Web Application Software Development Lead you will:

• 
  Plan, direct, and project manage the development of scientific, applied science, and engineering data databases, applications, web site content, and computational programs for the JETS/Science and Exploration Department and with the NASA/Astromaterials Research and Exploration Science Division
• Lead a diverse team of approximately a five department IT development staff to deliver software products and services, establish team roles and responsibilities, and engage and develop team skills
• Provide direction for enhancing and formalizing the software development process
• Provide direction for assuring that all software and system are compliant with NASA and IRD (Information Resource Directorate) security and software guidelines and requirements
• Work with Science and Exploration Department managers and civil servant customers to determine requirements, establish a strategic approach to development and priorities, document software, and validate performance of delivered software and data
• Project manage significant software development tasks, efforts, and projects using project management best practices for all cycles of the tasks/efforts/projects including close communication with the department manager
• Coordinate software development with IT server infrastructure and IT security leads.
• Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and normally possess 10 years of experience in the field or in a related area
• Significant experience in software development using a variety of languages, databases, and methodologies Knowledge of newer web technologies including Node, React, Vue, and cloud
• Ability to understand existing applications written in ColdFusion, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Proficient with databases especially SQL Server
• At least five years' experience with project management, software team leadership, and software processes including development, test, deployment, maintenance, and reporting
• Be knowledgeable of standards and best practices for integrating security and accessibility within software Positive interpersonal skills
• Good oral and written communication skills

Requisition Preferences:

• BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years of progressive, relevant experience, or an MS degree in a computer or system science discipline and eight (8) years of progressive experience, or a Ph.D. degree in a computer or system science discipline and four (4) years of progressive experience. Requires demonstrated technical expertise in engineering systems design and analysis
• Advanced degrees or certifications in the field of software development and project management.
• System administrator knowledge of MS Windows operating systems
• Experience within the NASA JSC IT environment preferred (optional)
• Excellent Project Management skills
