JFS Care is looking for Caregivers, Direct Support Professional (DSP), and IHSS workers who have experience working with the elderly and developmental disabilities. We are currently looking for compassionate and professional part-time and full-time caregivers to work one-on-one with this vulnerable population. These older individuals are at risk of being homeless, rehabilitated substance users who were once homeless, or low-income individuals who cannot afford adequate care for themselves. What We Offer:

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal assistance to elderly patients by attending to their basic needs, such as (but not limited to) bathing, toileting, dressing and feeding
• Help with mobility inside the home and outside (doctor’s visits, walks, etc.)
• Plan and prepare meals
• Supervision and companionship work
• Complete client’s shopping needs or accompany them
• Perform light housekeeping duties
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency, and always report any unusual incidents

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience preferred
• Experience working with Dementia, Alzheimer, Parkinson’s, Hoarding, Schizophrienia, Bipolar, Cancer patients, mobility issues, or Behavioral Challenges are a plus
• Physical capacity to reach and bend as needed to assist individuals who require physical assistance
• Home Care Aide Registration ID # (we can help you register)
• Able to pass a DOJ/ FBI background check
• Able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.A.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current TB test (less than a year old)
• Up-to-date CPR or First Aid Certifications
• Physical capacity for transferring and assisting persons who require physical assistance
• The Covid-19 vaccine is a requirement for this position. A valid religious or medical exemption would be accepted but would require submission of weekly COVID-19 testing.
