Supervise the work of crews performing Well Abandonment and Intervention operations and services both onshore and offshore. Supervise work in shop related to servicing, repairing and preparing equipment as directed by management. Additionally, they should be contributing towards improvement of safe work practices, service quality and efficiency.
- Continue training to expand knowledge and experience of well abandonment and intervention operations
- Assist in training of P & A Tech Supervisors and Equipment Operator’s when required
- Oversee and/or assume the duties and responsibilities of the P & A Tech Supervisor position as needed
- Supervises Crew while on the rig floor and operations are ongoing
- Communicate with internal and external customers
- Prepare and maintain accurate paperwork on job reports, tools run in the hole, and other related forms
- Determine the need and use of equipment when on a job
- Advise customer on the proper procedures to perform operations pertaining to well abandonment and intervention and provide instruction on proper procedures. Supervise the operation
- Have the ability to control well pressure using pressure control equipment including BOP’s, Annular BOP’s and Accumulator Units
- Responsible for maintaining well control on job site and liaising with Supervisor and/or Customer Representative
- Ensure all JHA, Tailgate & safety meetings are conducted and must know all SOP’s for all unit equipment
- Maintain well in accordance with downhole conditions
- Ability to calculate wellbore displacements
- Must have the ability to grasp and adapt to changing work environment and conditions
- Must be able to perform problem solving and troubleshooting without supervision
- Must be able to perform tasks requiring technical formulas and procedures
- Required to attend Weatherford and customer required specialized training courses pertaining to Well Abandonment & Intervention Services. Including but not limited to: Supervisory Development Program, Well Control – maintain status as up-to-date, any other training deemed necessary to perform job duties
- Required to work on 24 hr call status
- Required to work onshore and offshore for long periods of time (no set schedule involved)
- Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
- Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
- Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job
- Extensive knowledge of Well Abandonment & Intervention equipment and services
- 5+ years previous oilfield experience
- 3+ years of Related experience
- Previous offshore rig experience
- Must be able to work independently and perform advanced tasks with no supervision
- Excellent Supervisory skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to work closely with internal and external customers
- Broad knowledge of well abandonment and intervention products and services including but not limited to cementing, slick-line, casing cutting and pulling, simple fishing operations, simple milling operations, section milling, setting of CIBP’s
- Have the ability to make well site decisions pertaining to the down hole operations as well as overall management of the project
