Summary:

MCIL is seeking a W.I.O.A Informed Choice Specialist who is experienced in working with individuals with disabilities seeking employment. The W.I.O.A. Specialist will be responsible for communicating with individuals with disabilities and informing them of their options/opportunities for employment in the metro area. The ideal candidate will possess skills in motivational interviewing, and will demonstrate skills and abilities in educating individuals about their options.

MCIL seeks an individual who is resourceful and knowledgeable regarding employment for people with disabilities, including familiarity with sub-minimum wage employment and the importance of the right of individuals with disabilities to seek competitive employment. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable with minimal structure and will be able to self-direct their work by addressing questions regarding employment independently and in a timely manner. MCIL desires a creative, solution-oriented problem solver who demonstrates initiative and a passion for supporting individuals with disabilities in their desires to lead self-determined lives.

Duties:

• 
  Develop, schedule and conduct group information sessions with subminimum wage earners and their guardians within the Twin Cities metro 7-county service area, often at Community Rehabilitation Provider locations around the metro area or other agreed-upon community locations.
• Conduct individual informed choice discussions with interested subminimum wage earners within the Twin Cities 7-county metro area, often at locations around the metro area.
• Use different technology and other tools to help all individuals understand their choices regarding integrate and competitive employment, and to make an informed choice. This includes work with adult learners with a variety of disabilities including intellectual, developmental, cognitive, and learning disabilities, and people who use different communication styles.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with consumers, community partners and colleagues.
• Setting and managing a calendar of events and meetings in an organized manner.
• Maintain required documentation in timely manner and in compliance with regulations and MCIL policy.

Qualifications:

Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; work experience should include 3 to 5 years of relevant experience

Certificates/Licenses:

Valid Drivers License and Proof of personal auto insurance
