GENERAL PURPOSE
Coordinate the administration of work-related injury and illness workers compensation claims within the MillerKnoll US locations. Ensure timely processing of worker’s compensation claims with Third Party Administrator (TPA). Coordinate return to work activities with Operations teams, Human Resources, Safety, Worker’s Compensation Specialist, and Leave Management team. Act as a liaison for between Associates, the TPA, and medical providers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Evaluate incident reports for completeness of documentation, department investigation results, witness statements and other data.
Compile investigation notes, photos, and materials for entry into claim management system.
Ensure timely and accurate entry of claim into the Mountainview System.
Ensure accurate and timely application of worker’s compensation practices, regulations and laws to maintain corporate safety compliance.
Approve nurse case manager and investigative claims managers as needed with TPA.
File appropriate forms for compensable work-related claims in accordance with state laws.
Provide supporting documentation to Counsel for litigation and claim reviews.
Coordinate return to work activities with Operations, HR, and EHS teams.
Report Lost Time and FMLA cases to Payroll and Leave Management.
Coordinates sending of medical reports and billing to Gallagher Bassett (GB) and to individual claims managers in each covered state for all companies.
Approves increases in reserves based on recommendations from TPA/ Broker.
Participates in periodic claim status meetings with TPA.
Provides information and supports requests from workers compensation attorneys during litigation.
Assign claim classification as medical-only or indemnity.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested.
Work Schedule: M-F up to 5 days working remote is available. Travel to a MillerKnoll location will be required periodically for strategy and training assignments.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience
Working knowledge of the Worker Compensations Act and state and federal statutes and regulations.
Two years work experience, preferably working within medical and/or legal industry.
Understanding of medical terminology.
Licenses and Certifications
Professional certification(s) in the Workers Comp field are preferred (i.e. CWCP, CRM, SHRM)
Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate, obtain information quickly, and problem solve.
Good judgement interpreting medical facts from a physician to determine an individual’s capacity to engage in light duty or modified work.
Developed knowledge and understanding of applicable Municipal, Provincial, State and Federal regulations.
Highly effective communication skills and ability to interact with people of various social/economic backgrounds, work experience and education levels.
Ability to effectively use office automation/communication software and tools used in the MillerKnoll office environment.
Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Must be able to perform all essential functions with or without accommodations.
