Writing Tutor Job at Pima Community College
Our quirky little team is looking for a few good tutors to not only help our amazing students with their academics, but to be models for how to BE good students. To be eligible for our program, students must be able to earn a degree, with an emphasis on transfer to a university, and have a documented disability.
We are looking for writing tutors who can tutor reading and writing, and also help students get organized, stay on top of assignments, and build good strategies for learning.
As tutors in this program, you will never be expected to already know everything. It is okay to teach yourself, again or for the first time, and demonstrate how to do that to a student. Rather than the model of the tutoring in the college at large, our tutoring is done by appointment. You get to relax and really spend some time helping the students “get it.” We are currently doing both in person tutoring, usually at East Campus, and virtual tutoring.
