Shive-Hattery has an opening in our Cedar Rapids location for a 3D Scanning Specialist. The 3D Scanning Specialist will be both onsite performing scans using the latest Faro and Trimble 3D scanners and in the office processing the point cloud data with Trimble Realworks and Autodesk Recap software.

As the 3D Scanning Specialist at Shive-Hattery, you will be immersed in the latest technology, travelling to interesting project sites across the nation. Clients and project teams will appreciate your innovative approaches using laser scanning and software.

You will work with structural engineers, mechanical engineers, architects and surveyors on a variety of projects detailing the existing conditions of complex sites. 3D scanning is an important part of our design process, especially in industrial settings. Along with the Scanning Group leader, you will implement scanning procedures and train other scanning operators.

Requirements:

• Travel is required and length of stay will vary according to project needs. Candidate must have a satisfactory driving record and maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with Company driving policies. Early start times and weekend work may be required.
• Fieldwork will require lifting and carrying the various scanners. Candidate must be able to lift heavy items safely. Extended standing may be required. Some environments may have extreme temperatures. Working at heights might also be required.
• Candidate must be able to pass multiple drug screens, background checks and safety classes as required by our various clients.
• Associated degree preferred but 3+ years of trade or technical experience with a High School diploma will be considered.
