Job Summary: The Authorizations Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the prior authorization process. Responsible for documenting, requesting, and updating authorizations for accurate claims processing. Responsibilities include a) timely and accurate identification and submission of prior and retro authorization requests to the payors; b) interacting with clients, insurance companies, patients, and sales representatives, as necessary, to facilitate authorizations.

Responsibilities:

· Complete and verify Intake for prior authorization readiness.

· Utilize insurance portals or other mechanisms to obtain prior authorizations.

· Ensure all authorizations are kept up-to-date and managed pro-proactively.

· Actively communicates with insurance companies to expedite authorization of services.

· Provide outstanding customer service and develop and maintain positive working relationships with patients and insurance carriers.

· Identify, report trends, and solve prior authorization issues related to billing and reimbursement.

· Maintain timely records of all account activity and correspondence.

· Manages daily, weekly, and monthly accounts while meeting or exceeding all production goals.

· Assemble payroll in accordance with the authorizations on file and documents from providers matching the authorizations.

· Effectively communicate and work with colleagues from other departments.

· Respond proactively to colleagues’ and superiors' inquiries, both in writing and verbally in a positive and willing manner in a spirit if teamship and collaboration.

· Update Operations Procedures Manual with new or updated processes and tools related to the Intake and Authorizations.

· Additional duties may be assigned or performed as needed.

Education and Qualifications

· High school diploma

· 1+ years of insurance background and/or behavioral health industry experience (ABA)

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)

· Easy learner of operational software

· Knowledge of CentralReach is a plus

· Familiar with behavioral health industry terminology

· Professional courtesy, personal and phone soft skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
