Position Overview: The General Accountant is a unique role that supports different corporate finance and accounting activities, including but not limited to accounts payable, general accounting, and treasury. The role requires an individual that has a strong work ethic, the ability to work in a dynamic environment, values teamwork, and can work with confidential information.

General Accounting:

  • Prepare and enter month-end journal entries for corporate and strategic business units (SBUs)
  • Prepare and enter monthly intercompany transactions, and provide supporting information for month-end eliminations
  • Analyze monthly cost center spend levels, comparing to budget or forecast, and report out on variances
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and other general ledger account reconciliations and investigate and resolve any differences
  • Maintain the accounting schedules for IT contracts and insurance premium activity
  • Provide support for sales & use tax reporting for corporate
  • Process travel and entertainment expense reports
  • Maintain the monthly capital expenditures details and provide summary details to the executive team
  • Maintain quarterly unclaimed property

Accounts Payable:

  • Backup for vendor management, including master records and vendor form maintenance
  • Become familiar with invoice handling processes and develop ideas for streamlining
  • Process access requests/modifications for ImageNow and modify approval trees when needed
  • 1099 preparation and distribution

Other Areas of Importance:

  • Assist with corporate cost center budget and forecast activities
  • Develop knowledge of key systems, such as SAP and other High specific platforms
  • Support the audit through pulling detail support requested by the auditors
  • Support the gift card program management
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, prepare proposals and implement changes
  • Ad hoc requests and projects as necessary

Educational & Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting/Finance or Business or 3-5 years related experience.
  • Expected to work independently, working under the general direction of the Manager, Accounting.
  • Required maturity and a high level of professionalism coupled with good interpersonal and communication skills.
