Accounting Assistant - Part Time Job at Wesley Woods Senior Living
Schedule: Part-Time; Tuesday - Thursday from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Accounting Assistant reviews, reconciles, and processes various routine accounting transactions for expenses, reimbursements, receipts and/or payments in accordance with established accounting procedures. Provides administrative and clerical support as needed. Performs other related duties as required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Completes data entry for the finance department to include:
- Input bills and invoices into system
- Process and maintain expense reports
- Entering data into a database management system and verify entries through daily audit
2. Assists with accounts receivable/payable:
- Assist in supporting all internal and external audits related to payroll.
- Fax, copy, and distribute forms and documents as necessary.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
3. Maintain all Accounts Payable files:
- Sets up files and files correspondence to ensure information is easily retrieved.
- Assists with year-end file purge by reviewing files to ensure that all invoices have been correctly filed before they are moved into storage.
4. Works with manager to formulate plan for professional development.
- Attends educational in-services as appropriate.
5. Assists Human Resources department:
- Filing, data entry, mailing, & faxing/copying
6. Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.- One year of accounting clerk experience. Bank reconciliation knowledge a plus.
- One year of general office experience to include data entry, typing, and filing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word.
- Ability to accurately utilize 10 key and type up to 30 words per minute.
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
Working Conditions
- General office environment with the majority of your day spent at a computer.
- Be able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity needed for computer work/keyboarding
- Ability to perform physical activities that require use of hands and arms. Ability to kneel, bend, stoop.
- Tolerate working indoors in artificial light and the glare of computer screens
