JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
RATE OF PAY: Grade 3 (Starting at $13.89 hr.)
NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: 52 weeks, avg. 40 hours weekly
LOCATION: CVCA Main Office in North Tazewell, VA
This position is considered Lower Risk for COVID-19. This individual must be fully vaccinated at time of hire or have an approved religious or medical exemption.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Accounting Clerk generally performs billing and accounting responsibilities. His/Her duties include supporting accounts receivable, accounts payable and reconciliations, accounts receivable, verifying receipts and deposits, coding and preparing and maintaining records among other job obligations. Attendance is a mandatory job function. Works toward ROMA goals.
EDUCATION and QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of Associate’s Degree in Accounting or a related field required. Payroll processing experience preferred. Fund accounting experience preferred. Good computer skills, with proficiency in Word and Excel. Proficient use of Word, Excel, Access and other software packages preferred. GMS accounting experience a plus. Extensive knowledge of and experience with various types of insurance, i.e. worker’s compensation, liability, etc.;
ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Must have a satisfactory driving record; Must be willing to attend overnight or out-of-town travel; Must possess or secure First Aid/CPR Certification;
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must get TB screening or PPD, Physical, CPS, DMV, Criminal Record check, Drug/Alcohol Screening; Must be proficient in English;
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift 25 lbs. This position may require constant or extensive standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, hearing, seeing, speaking, and lifting;
PREFERENCES: (Current and former Head Start parent, active Agency volunteers, interns;
