Pelican New Orleans is in search of an experienced accounting manager to join our team! This person must have a very strong accounting background with experience and/or education.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Managing the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget operation.
- Recruiting and hiring accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
- Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Establish internal controls and guidelines or accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Oversee preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets in conjunction with the CPA.
- Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Manage all insurance policies.
- LWCC – monthly reports, payment submission, recording allocation of payment
- Biweekly Sales vs Prior period report comparison
- Insurance – maintaining the allocation and adjustments
- Annual LA-5 filing to report property to parishes
- Assist with payroll as needed & calculate the driver PTO/Sick hourly rate
- Credit cards payment processing and maintaining of available balance for operations to run effectively.
- PNO Group Sales – Help to maintain figures, accuracy of receivables & payables
- Verify the matching of income to expense and all sales are being accounted for in the correct QuickBooks company account
- Check postings / entries to verify the accuracy of account and class
- Records all month end closing entries
- Amortize and Reconcile spreadsheets
- Maintain a Payroll accrual spreadsheet
- Comped items spreadsheet
- Monthly Vendor payables review
- Limo Anywhere - maintain the accuracy on the back end. Verify Limo Anywhere is cleaned up and correlates with the QuickBooks.
- Assist with the Accounting Manager duties when she is out of the office (i.e., payroll processes, commission checks, bills coming due)
- EIDL allocation of allowable expenses
- Enter adjusting entries from CPA after year end into each of the company accounts.
- Daily bookkeeping for distillery business
- Complete all other duties assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in QuickBooks & Excel.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Three years or more of related experience is preferred.
