We are looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our team in Troy, Ohio. We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate person who contributes to building a positive team. This position reports to the Accounting Manager. The selected candidate will perform diverse adjustment transactions resulting from review of customer order files and related data within Epicor and Avalara to ensure correct accounting. The individual in this role will also be cross-trained trained in cash application procedures. The candidate should possess accounting knowledge and skills to assist the Accounting Manager with ad-hoc projects. Will require frequent contact with both internal and external personnel along with customer contact that will require professionalism, courtesy, and tact. The position requires a highly organized individual capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. They will be a self-starter capable of independent work and possess attention to detail, focusing on accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Process domestic invoice/order adjustments for all supported business units within the Epicor system.
• Process domestic billings for Retail and Foodservice sales along with miscellaneous billings as required.
• Ensure tax exempt customers have required tax exemption documents.
• Process customer’s payments in the form of checks, ACHs, and wires
• Assist accounting and finance leadership team with ad-hoc projects and requests.
• Professional oral and written communication
• Excellent follow-up skills and attention to detail
• Team oriented with the ability to effectively interact with co-workers, customers, sales, and product lines.
• Contributes to building a positive team.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years Accounting related experience.
• Excellent oral, interpersonal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Ability to plan and coordinate projects as an individual contributor or as a member of a cross-functional team.
