ACTIVITIES COORDINATOR

The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of activities throughout the senior
development communities (Riverview Terrace, Mill Brook Estates, Larrabee Heights, Larrabee Woods,
Larrabee Village, Presumpscot Commons, Spring Crossing, Malcolm A Noyes, and Larrabee Commons,
Robert L. Harnois, Lewis H. Emery ) managed by Westbrook Housing. Under the direct supervision of
Supportive Services Director this person will be responsible to develop and implement activity programs at
all elderly/disabled communities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for:

1. the simultaneous development, new programming, implementing existing programming and for the

coordination of social events and other activities that occur at each community;

2. the coordination of our residents with community events, bringing the events into the various sites,

or taking the residents out into the community;

3. establishing a rapport with community partners;

4. providing budget information and the ability to be resourceful on a limited budget;

5. working closely with the Supportive Services Director, Property Managers, Volunteers, Maintenance

employees, Larrabee Village and each of the Resident’s Councils for social events and activities;

6. completing necessary documentation as may be required in fulfilling reporting for both in-house and

regulatory reports;

7. the activities bus as the main driver; in addition, making sure it is registered, inspected, and scheduled

for routine maintenance and cleaning;

8. training new drivers for the bus;

9. the full production and distribution of monthly activity calendars;

10. participating with fundraising for Westbrook Service Corporation (WSC);

REQUIREMENTS OF WORK:

Ability to:

1. Use Microsoft Office Suite and any other computer software as needed to fulfill the essential

functions of the position.

2. Work independently with minimum supervision and a high attention to detail.

3. Prioritize multiple tasks.

4. Organize and follow through to completion processes and special projects as assigned.

5. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

6. Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders

inclusive of residents, contractors, suppliers, neighbors, municipal staff, HUD and Westbrook

Housing staff.

7. Be available for a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, to meet the needs of the

clientele


JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. 2 - 4 years of proven success in the field of housing or property management or a BA or BS in an
appropriate discipline.

2. Must possess and maintain a valid Maine Driver License and proof of insurance as well as have a
clean driving record in order to be authorized to operate the WH Activity Bus.
