ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/ BOOKKEEPER ASSISTANT

A&S Rebar Inc. and Lashay’s Construction & Development, Inc., are a “One-Stop-Shop” for rebar supply, fabrication, installation, and project management services. We provide comprehensive rebar services including estimating, detailing, fabrication, delivery, and installation of the finished product. We are certified by New York public agencies as both a manufacturer and supplier.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Administrative Assistant/Assistant Bookkeeper will work directly with the Office Manager and Bookkeeper

supporting A&S Rebar Inc. and LaShay Construction & Development Company. The assistant will assist the

bookkeeper by providing data entry, assisting with payroll, paperwork, spreadsheeting and maintaining an

organized office. This is a fast-paced role that requires attention to detail and problem- solving abilities.

▪ Collecting and distributing daily mail.

▪ Answer phones and route calls.

▪ Maintain accounts payable documentation electronically and authorized payments to specific vendors.

▪ Process bank/credit card reconciliations to verify the practice of proper due diligence.

▪ Analyze, document, and process employee’s and supervisor’s billable information for invoicing to the respective clients.

▪ Prepare payroll/reports for submission to Paychex, government agencies and accounting systems

▪ Run weekly receivables, payables, and accounting reports for weekly status meetings

▪ Assist with bid preparations, letters of intent, and contract award letters per instructions from office manager

▪ Assist with preparation and filing monthly reports for various contracts

▪ Perform a variety of administrative projects on behalf of the company executive

▪ Assist in restocking of office supplies

▪ Establish and maintain effective working relationships

▪ Be an effective team player, self-motivated, quick learner

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

▪ Must be available to be on-site and commute to Yonkers, NY

▪ Possess exceptional organizational skills

▪ Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload

▪ Possess good customer service skills

▪ Excellent computer skills are required including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

▪ Strong communication skills with superior written, oral, and digital communication skills

▪ Maintain a clean work environment

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, EDUCATION

▪ High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred

▪ Construction industry experience a plus

▪ Construction Payroll Experience, knowledge of Unions, Benefits, etc. a plus

▪ Experience with Payroll software, Quick Books, and Quantum software a plus

▪ Experience working in a fast-paced office environment
