Adventure Tours is a charter bus company located at 17517-B Indian Head Hwy, Accokeek, MD 20607. The Administrative Assistant position will report to our Operations Supervisor. Adventure Tours is fast growing small business that is looking for a responsible, reliable individual to help Adventure Tours continued growth and development. We are a small company with a family atmosphere. The primary role for this position is day to assist staff with day to day administrative needs.

Each position within Adventure Tours comes with set goals and expectations. Below are the requirements and responsibilities for your positions. We have put in a 30-90-day probation period (time will vary per employee and position) for all new hires. This is to ensure this is a right fit for you and to ensure you are a right fit for your company. Upon completion of the probation period there will be a review with management to ensure we are on the same page for the benefit of Adventure Tours.

Duties:

  • Welcomes and directs visitors
  • Answers telephones and directs calls
  • Assists in the ordering and receiving of office supplies
  • Assists with other related clerical duties including photocopying, faxing and filing
  • Assisting other departments with administrative duties and projects as needed
  • Knowledge of surrounding geographic area to ensure effective and efficient routing.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize time to balance conflicting demands related to customer care and dispatching.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers in fast-paced and/or stressful environment (interpersonal & telephone skills).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and instructions from customers and other team members.
  • Ability to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure.
  • Ability to work within the appropriate level of independence.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to use office machines (fax, scanner, copier, telephone system)
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Program and TDS computerized routing software.
  • Ability to learn Coach Manager Dispatching Software.
  • Ability to read road and street maps.
  • Ability to keep organized and accurate records relating to overall dispatch and routing responsibilities.

Required Skills:

  • H.S. diploma and a minimum of two year’s office/receptionist experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to provide strong customer service
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with employees, management and outside guests
  • Must be a flexible and collaborative team member
  • Must be detail-oriented, well-organized with the ability to manage multiple projects & priorities simultaneously
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality in working closely with the HR department Candidate must be able to work during the core business hours.

Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
