Administrative Assistant Support - NPS ESP Program Job at Center for Workforce Inclusion
The Center for Workforce Inclusion is recruiting for an Administrative Support Assistant position within the Experience Service Program (ESP) that provides support to the United States Department of the Interior, National Capital Parks-East in Washington, DC.
Role and Responsibilities: Provides administrative and clerical support to include payroll, property and preparing for purchasing.
- Answers the telephone and greets visitors to park headquarters. Provides general information and directs visitors to appropriate personnel for specific information. Receives and distributes incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail for delivery.
- Serves as a timekeeper. Reviews time and attendance reports for employees and assures reports are correctly entered into QuickTime.
- Performs or oversees supply functions including receiving incoming supplies, materials and equipment, checking items against acquisition documents for completeness, and resolving discrepancies with appropriate staff or shipping companies. Work with administrative staff to order and maintains stock items such as office supplies, copier paper and forms.
- Uses word processing and/or database software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print a variety of standardized documents, using a glossary of pre-established formats, form letters, standard paragraphs, and mailing lists. Types in final form from notes or drafts, correspondence, including letters, memoranda’s, and reports checking for proper format
- May perform other duties required to support the operation of the division.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States; able to pass a Federal Background check; HS/GED; Skill in typing and using word processing and other software. Comprehensive knowledge of office procedures and routines to provide administrative support. Microsoft Suite; SharePoint a plus. Office work and onsite visits to learn park resources, walking trails and other outdoor areas.
Hours & Compensation: Part-Time position working 24 hours per week @ $16.10 per hour; 6-12 month project.
