This position is located at the Polly Best Center (in Barnwell) Aiken-Barnwell Mental Health Center, 916 Reynolds Road, Barnwell, SC 29812.
Under general supervision and support from your immediate supervisor, you will support the provision of evidenced based services (safe, effective and measurable) to help patients move forward in recovery to include:
This position is located at the Polly Best Center (in Barnwell) Aiken-Barnwell Mental Health Center, 916 Reynolds Road, Barnwell, SC 29812.
Under general supervision and support from your immediate supervisor, you will support the provision of evidenced based services (safe, effective and measurable) to help patients move forward in recovery to include:
- provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and stakeholders via phone and in person
- use advanced phone skills with the ability to handle high call volume using a multi-line phone system
- answer all incoming calls in a pleasant and helpful manner and directs calls to appropriate parties
- demonstrate basic to intermediate computer knowledge and skills
- greet and check-in patients
- notify staff of appointment arrivals, schedule client appointments, verify method of payment for services and collect payments and co-pays
- update the patient’s demographic information upon check-in
- maintain an accurate record of daily collection amounts according to DMH policy
- work collaboratively with all clinical staff in support of direct patient services
- use good verbal and written communication skills
- be willing to work evening and/or weekends
- understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality
- be able to maintain confidentiality under HIPPA standards
- conduct cash flow report
- conduct daily audit of change fund
- handle money, prepare and make bank deposits, maintain an accurate record of daily collections and change fund amounts according to DMH policy
- provide quality customer service and networks with stakeholders to increase knowledge of prevention, treatment and recovery services
- Provide medical records coverage as necessary: completing all requests for information within 14 business days of receipt; entering appropriate changes/information into EMR/CIS system in a timely manner; developing and mailing client communication; assisting with designated exams; receiving and processing medication requests from consumers; completing prior authorization documentation; conducting thorough intakes to include obtaining all signed consents/required information and entry into CIS/EMR; providing orientation to clients upon intake (HIPPA, PRIVACY, ABMHC procedures/policies, etal).
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility and accountability to include handling center funds according to SCDMH policy, collections and compliance with corporate compliance plan: conducts daily audit for change fund; ensures bank deposit is made within SCDMH policy.
- Pursue new and better way of serving our customers and stakeholders via training.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies.
A high school diploma or GED. Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
