    The Lancaster County Career & Technology Center has an anticipated Admissions Advisor vacancy effective December 12, 2022. This position supports all of the campuses at Lancaster CTC.

    The Admissions Advisor serves as one of the primary contacts for prospective students and their family, school counselors and advisors, and other individuals or organizations involved in the postsecondary program selection process. Through representing Lancaster CTC, at both on and off campus and Careerlink events, this position is responsible for recruiting and managing an inquiry and applicant pool and for reviewing applications, transcripts, essays, test scores and any other materials submitted by the applicant for the purpose of making admissions decisions. The Admissions Advisor will guide support staff in their role of assisting applicants through the admissions process.

    The Admissions Advisor will communicate and work with prospective students, primarily by in-person appointments, telephone, email, texting, and social media sites on the admissions process and opportunities at Lancaster CTC.

    This position requires the ability to travel regionally, and will include evening and weekend hours.

    The Admissions Advisor must possess a strategic and curious mind with an ability to communicate and create interest in the Lancaster CTC with prospective students. This professional must be enthusiastic, people-oriented and enjoy working with high school and adult students. This position requires exceptional organization skills and a positive attitude.


    Essential Responsibilities
    • Managing the inquiry and applicant flow to ensure students turn in all necessary documents to complete their file for the enrollment and financial aid process.
    • Reviewing applications and any other materials submitted by the applicant for the purpose of making admissions decisions or recommendations.
    • Creating and maintaining professional relationships with school counselors and advisors and other individuals or organizations involved in the postsecondary selection process.
    • Serving as the primary contact to prospective students and their family, school counselors and advisors, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.
    • Remaining in constant contact with prospective students through multiple mediums, including individual appointments, telephone, email, texting, social media sites and video/virtual chat.
    • Leading campus tours and conducting informational sessions and prospective student interviews.
    • Attending and assisting with the coordination of recruitment functions, counselor workshops, information sessions and open houses.
    • Schedule and provide coverage to attend open houses, career & college fairs, job & trade shows, agricultural fairs, and other similar events.
    • Develop recruiting schedule with sending schools to recruit senior students into full time programs.
    • Maintain regular contact with registrar office to identify under-enrolled programs and recruit for these programs.
    • Recruit and provide career guidance support to prospective students in appropriate program selection.
    • Schedule prospective students for tours for all campuses as needed.
    • Manage program leads including call-ins, walk-ins, e-mails, and website requests.
    • Compile lead data to assist in determining marketing needs.
    • Develop strong partnerships with community partners to promote better understanding of the CTC programs.
    • Assist in the preparation of publication materials for advertising and print media.
    • Liaison to local school districts and agencies.
    • Receive and maintain all calls from new advertisements about new programs.
    • Subscribe to all FERPA guidelines in dealing with students records and information.
    • Receive and respond to calls and e-mails from prospective and current students by handling questions, sending program materials, and /or by directing/linking customer to appropriate resources.
    • Assist applicant in completing the admissions process.
    • Assist in maintaining Higher & Continuing Education Office Policies/Procedures Manual.
    • Perform basic office duties such as copying, typing, faxing, filing and purchasing office supplies.
    • Provide support as needed for program approvals/compliance and accreditation.

    Education & Experience:
    • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
    • 3 years of sales, administrative assistant and/or customer service experience
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Dynamic public speaking skills
    • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
    • Excellent typing skills
    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Child Abuse, PA Criminal, and FBI clearances dated within one (1) year of start date; ability to obtain required physical and TB test prior to start date.

    Salary:
    $39,972 - $47,967 annually; based on experience and education

    Schedule:
    Monday- Friday; 37.5 hours per week; 260 days per year; including evenings and weekend hours
