    The Ulster BOCES Adult Education Program is seeking instructors for Adult Education Community Education classes. Classes are taught evenings in Port Ewen, generally running between 5 and 9 pm, or during one Saturday a month. All positions are hourly and flexibility is required. This is a non-benefited position.

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
    Community Education instructors bring their unique expertise to the courses they are teaching. They are expected to be available 15 minutes prior to the class, check in with the Adult Education office, and prepare their classroom for instruction. All materials needed are brought by the instructor, if additional supplies are required this is managed by the Adult Career Counselor. Classes may include security guard, language classes, computer classes, music classes, photography, voice overs, sewing, recreational games, among others.

    WORK SCHEDULE :
    Generally between 6 and 9 pm, for the number of hours required to cover the course content, or one Saturday a month.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES :
    Instructor will:
    • ensure all paperwork is completed and schedule confirmed with the Adult Career Counselor
    • prepare an agenda for the course instruction
    • collect sign-in sheets from the office and ensure they are completed, returning them to the office
    • provide instruction for the agreed upon hours
    • submit timesheet properly completed to the Adult Career Counselor

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
    High school diploma or equivalent experience related to their topic of instruction.
