AMAZON RELAY NON-CDL BOX TRUCK DRIVER POSITION | OVER THE ROAD
TYPE OF WORK: DOCK TO DOCK PICKUPS AND DROP-OFFS

THIS JOB WILL REQUIRE THE DRIVER TO TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF THE ORIGINATING STATE INTO OTHER STATES TO MAKE DROP-OFFS. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE THE DRIVER TO BE ON THE ROAD, POSSIBLY STAYING IN HOTELS OVERNIGHT IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE DELIVERY IN THE DESTINATION STATE.

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

• DRIVER WILL DRIVE TO PICK-UP LOCATIONS. WHICH WILL GENERALLY BE AMAZON WAREHOUSES/ DISTRIBUTION CENTERS.

• THE TRUCK WILL BE LOADED BY THE DRIVER AT THE PICK-UP LOCATION. THE DRIVER WILL HAVE TO LOG INTO THE AMAZON RELAY APP SCAN THE LABELS ON THE PALLET TO CONFIRM IT HAS BEEN PICKED UP AND LOADED ONTO THE TRUCK. THE DRIVER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR USING THE PALLET JACK TO LOAD THE PALLETS INTO THE TRUCK.

• DRIVER WILL HAVE TO SECURE EVERY LOAD CORRECTLY BY USING STRAPS AND LOADING BARS TO KEEP THE LOAD AND PALLET JACK IN PLACE DURING THE DRIVE.

• ONCE THE TRUCK IS LOADED THE DRIVER WILL HAVE TO CONFIRM ALL PALLETS HAVE BEEN SCANNED AND LOADED WITH THE AMAZON REPRESENTATIVE AND THEY WILL MARK THE DRIVER'S LOAD COMPLETED AND THEN THE DRIVER CAN PROCEED TO THE NEXT (DROP-OFF) LOCATION.
• THE AMAZON RELAY APP DIRECTS THE DRIVER TO THE DROP-OFF LOCATIONS. THE DRIVER WILL BE TASKED WITH ENTERING THE ADDRESSES INTO THE TRUCK GPS IN ORDER TO SAFLEY TRAVEL ONLY USING ROUTES FOR TRUCKS THAT SIZE.

• CONDUCT PRE TRIP & POST-TRIP INSPECTIONS.

• Inspecting the vehicle for mechanical items and safety issues

• Perform minor preventative maintenance

• MEET PICKUP AND DELIVERY SCHEDULES AND TIME-FRAMES

• COMPLY WITH DOT HOURS OF SERVICE

• 11 Hour Driving Limit: May drive a maximum of 11 Hours after 10 Hours off duty

• 14 Hour Limit: May not drive beyond 14 consecutive hours after coming on duty.

• (ONLY IF DRIVER TAKES LONGER TRIPS) 30 Minute Driving Break: must take a 30-minute break when they have driven for a period of 8 cumulative hours without at least a 30-minute interruption.

• Must take at least 34 consecutive off-duty hours before beginning a new 7/8-day duty period.

• 60/70-hour limit: driving time is limited to 60 hours within seven consecutive days or to 70 hours within eight consecutive days

• MAINTAINING DRIVER LOGS USING ELD (ELECTRONIC LOGGING DEVICE)

• Signing On and Off Duty Accordingly

• Marking when Breaks are Taken

• ABIDE BY TRUCKING RULES, REGULATIONS, AND SIGNS

• MAINTAIN THE CORRECT TRUCK SPECS (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) AS WELL AS WITH COMPANY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES. PLEASE SEE THE BOX TRUCK WEIGHT SIZE CHART INSIDE THE TRUCK.

• MANEUVER TRUCKS INTO LOADING AND UNLOADING POSITIONS

• COLLECT AND VERIFY DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS

• (ONLY IF ISSUED BY AMAZON) SCAN BACK PICTURES OF BILL OF LADING | PROOF OF DELIVERY AND EMAIL TO ROUTE/ MANAGER CONTACT UPON COMPLETION OF DELIVERY.

• REPORT DEFECTS, ACCIDENTS, OR VIOLATIONS USING INCIDENT FORMS LOCATED IN THE TRUCK.

SKILLS

• Proven work experience as a truck driver

• The driver should have experience with ELD electronic logging devices. But it is not necessary.

• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly

• Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations

• No recent moving or driving violations

• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc)

• VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

• moving company and transportation experience preferred

PAYMENT INFORMATION

• WAGE RATE: UP TO $5500

• ROUTES WILL BE GOING THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES.
