Analyst/Sr Analyst: Innovation and Entrepreneurship

The Analyst/Sr. Analyst Innovation and Entrepreneurship contributes to experiential learning and coaching programs to empower inventors and entrepreneurs to leverage human-centered design, agile and lean startup methodologies and practices to improve the potential success of their ideas, de-risk future investment and commercialize their venture.

What you will do:

• Support multi-tiered entrepreneurship education and coaching programs that have a major impact on the success of commercializing research and innovation within the government labs and other organizations
• Contribute to the development of experiential workshops then support the interactive sessions
• Support inventors and entrepreneurs with product development due diligence, company formation and funding
• Develop presentations, reports and content using ppt and other creative software (beautiful.ai, canva, etc.)
• Manage project plans, stay extremely organized and focused on details of program execution
• Research industry and markets to help advise market timing and trends.
• Manage client engagements, calls/meetings to include set up, taking minutes, and managing follow-ups
• Collaborate with team members in delivering intrapreneurial programs
• Job sharing with other programs within our portfolio to create program synergies and build your expertise
• Participate in professional development activities like human centered design, new product development, business/finance and entrepreneurship. We are 100% committed to growing your skill set to be an entrepreneur

About you:

• 1-2+ years (analyst may not have direct work experience) of experience involving innovation and/or product development and/or with consulting/research supplier (research, design and innovation) OR 1-2 yrs experience in business admin/analysis/finance
• Completion of a bachelor’s degree
• Working knowledge of human-centered design/design research, agile & lean startup principles, product development best practices, business models evaluation/development
• Working knowledge of the project management process to ensure we deliver initiatives on-time with attention to details.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Loves meeting new people and building strong relationships with a wide range of people (e.g., scientist, corporate executive, entrepreneur, investor, government, etc.).
• Exhibits positive and enthusiastic attitude; loves working in a fast-paced and fluid environment and can work under tight deadlines with a positive attitude.
• Medium to expert level in Excel and other MS Office software. Must be fluent in modern office software.
• Tech savvy. Expert in a handful of SAAS systems and interested in learning more.
• Deeply curious, empathetic, and methodical.
• You don’t need to be an engineer, but we look for the ability to quickly absorb new technical concepts and think critically about them.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
• Thrive in a collaborative Arlington, VA office environment, this is not a remote working position.
