Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assembler/Bander will be required to set-up, operate, and to adjust machines and equipment to produce and/or to prepare for shipment a good quality product. Examples of machines and equipment are, but not limited to, nutting, banding, strapping, wrapping and other departmental equipment.
  • Processes performed will be, but not limited to, assembling, painting, palletizing, filing, bundling, banding, nutting, sorting, twisting, and deburring.
  • Operator may be required to make visual inspections, separate parts, identify, tag, count, record production, record scrap, keep required production records, and other operations as required.
  • Operator must have the ability to satisfactorily perform SPC as required.
  • Operator will be required to maintain machines, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly manner.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to stand and perform repetitive work for a minimum of eight hours.
  • Ability to walk, see and have full use of both hands.
  • Ability to perform highly repetitive work with heavy weights and degrees of vibration from the equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. from floor to above the waist and then place on timbers.
  • Ability to hold a stapling machine in one hand, position it, and staple the item.
  • These physical requirements are generalities and work may occasionally exceed the specified levels.
