APRN - Pre-Anesthesia Testing Job at The University of Vermont Health Network

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Newly designed Pre-Anesthesia Testing department (PAT) is looking for a part time APRN to work as part of a highly collaborative team. Under the direction of the supervising Anesthesiologist, the Nurse Practitioners are responsible for practicing in the expanded role to coordinate all aspects of pre-anesthetic preparation. Any testing or consults deemed necessary are ordered and reviewed. Support of LPN and RNS on the team for any concerns escalated from pre anesthesia patient phone calls. APRN will help facilitate patient care with surgical offices, anesthesia providers and admissions departments. They will also alternate coverage of the Anesthesia pain service that provide anesthetic blocks on the day of surgery and manage/ create plans for complex pain patients.
EDUCATION:
Registered nurse who has successfully completed formal education program approved by the Vermont Board of Nursing, or state or national accrediting agency which prepares nurses to function in advanced nursing practice. Must also be certified by national certifying agency recognized by the Vermont State Board of Nursing.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience as a nurse practitioner desired.
