Pediatrics Plus provides all of the necessary training to start your career as a Classroom Intervention Specialist, as well as opportunities to grow with us through professional development. Our training program will provide all the tools you need to be successful as you learn to engage and instruct children in our developmental preschool(s).
What you will do:
Our ideal candidate is someone who is excited to learn and is passionate about helping children in a fun, engaging, and collaborative manner.
- Actively participate in classroom management by guiding classroom teacher(s) in engaging children in interaction and activity for healthy development, curriculum implementation, playground activities, social and emotional development.
- Ensure learning environment(s) are established and maintained to motivate and enable children to achieve developmental milestones appropriate for their age.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals providing individualized care for each child to establish intervention strategies and encourage the childs growth and development.
- Ensure a positive emotional climate for the children by showing respect to children and adults through a willingness to help others, maintaining harmonious interpersonal relations, and using appropriate and approved de-escalation techniques.
- Guide Classroom Teacher(s) in identifying performance goals.
- Provide training and education to Classroom Teacher(s) for optimal classroom functioning.
- Oversee the evaluation, development, and implementation of Individual Treatment Plans for children.
- Ensure that a clean, safe, healthy, and sanitary learning environment is maintained and that children are kept clean, clothing is changed when necessary, and toys and other materials are disinfected each day.
- Ensure treatment plans developed by developmental evaluators are implemented.
- Collaborate with Classroom to respond intentionally to challenging behavior by helping children de-escalate and prompting appropriate skills
- Toilet training and diaper changing will be required

- Ability to move freely, quickly, and frequently from a sitting (on the floor or in a chair) to standing position and to lift up to 50 lbs. routinely
- Working knowledge of computer technology: Windows operating systems, iOS, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Availability Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm
- 18 years of age
- Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or another related field, OR a high school diploma with a minimum of 5 years experience working with children with special needs
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- One year of experience working with children in a professional setting
