Job Summary
Directly Manages and Supervises the Security Manager and Assists the Director of Security and Risk Management.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Is a key leader in the ERT; supervising all FCC and ERT assignments.
- Attends all Hotel Nikko Management meetings and trainings.
- Finalize all scheduling and Kronos entries
- Chairs the Hotel Safety Committee, and oversees the safety initiatives of the Hotel.
- Is the key person to monitor city and surrounding community for SF events. For example, news, traffic, street closure, construction, march, parade, protests and rallies, that effect the safety and mobility of the Hotel employees and guests- and, communicates that to the team and hotel staff.
- Assists in decision-making of which claims and incidences are submitted to insurance carriers.
- Represents the Security Department at all internal meetings ensuring that all hotel functions are executed safely and within all legal procedural parameters.
- Acts as Director of Security and Risk management in the absence of that individual.
- Responsible for all certifications of First Aid, CPR and AED trainings for entire department.
- Review with Security Manager: video and photos when collecting evidence to document a case-including edit, packaging and presenting.
- Assists the Associate Director of Security and Risk Management in all aspects of the Security Departmen
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum two to three years previous security service.
- Ability to read and write English at a high school graduate level.
- Ability to answer phones quickly, clearly, and professionally.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Ability to maintain good relations with staff and guests.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of co-workers and guests.
- Ability to operate computerized security office systems.-Including video monitors, door monitors, ID monitors and phones
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions, to make decisions without supervision and to prioritize tasks in order to meet appropriate deadlines.
- Ability to memorize, recollect, and quickly retrieve dates, names, times, and other data.
- Ability to converse calmly with irate guests, superiors, and subordinates in sometimes intense emotional situations.
- Ability to work under pressure and complete assignments on time when confronted with frequent stressful, emergency, critical or unusual situations.
- Ability to work and complete assignments on time when confronted with situations in which working speed and sustained attention to detail are critical.
- Ability to stand, reach, push, pull, twist, turn, and grasp.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in Security at a hotel
- Leadership role in a Security department
Related Duties and Qualifications
- Ability to protect the building from perceived danger
- Ability to survey monitors for a long period of time
- Ability to approach potentially dangerous individuals in a manner that protects yourself and the guests.
- Ability to recall an incident for accurate reporting.
- Ability to be mobile on all floors of the hotel for long periods of time
Work Conditions
- Most tasks are performed with little or no supervision.
- Most work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Temperatures will vary.
- Work tasks are performed standing, reaching, twisting, turning, and grasping.
- Standing and moving occurs during entire shift. Employee may stand up to eight hours throughout the day when performing tasks. Will also be required to sit or stand at the Security central base.
- Many work tasks involve the ability to lift heavy items or persons.
- Walking occurs continuously in moving from floor to floor.
- Reaching occurs frequently in retrieving items from various parts of the desk, files, and work area.
- Twisting and turning, walking and running occur frequently throughout the work shift in the process of retrieving or recording information and communicating with guests.
- Grasping occurs continually throughout the work shift.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in communicating with guests; co-workers and supervisors.
- The ability to see near and far is required for constant analysis of situations.
- Work tasks are performed with the use of equipment including, but not limited to telephone, computer, and printer, hands, handcuffs.
- Some work tasks may require employee to come in contact with hazardous chemicals. Employee should use all established safety precautions and guidelines.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
