Title: Assistant Distiller

Company Overview:

Boot Hill Distillery is a farmer-owned distillery in Dodge City Kansas that produces beverage alcohol.

Job Summary:

The Assistant Distiller will work with the Head Distiller to mill, mash, ferment, distill, age, filter, bottle, sell and ship distilled spirits.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

• Work with Head Distiller and follow recipes
• Load, unload clean and mill grain using a system of augers.
• Oversee daily Mashes, fermentations, and distillations.
• Pump liquids
• Maintain detailed daily records.
• Perform detailed cleaning of equipment and facility
• Maintain an orderly work area
• Perform maintenance on equipment
• Unload, load and fill barrels
• Conduct work in a safe, efficient manner
• Analyze spirits coming off the still
• Fill and empty barrels
• Manage inventory, follow PO Protocol
• Gauging of Spirits
• Conduct Lab Analysis
• Learn history of the city, building, ownership, and processes and be willing to share this with guests of the distillery.

• Be able to taste and identify faults in cocktails and spirits.
• Communicate in public with all types of people (customers and coworkers)
• Must be able to work on your feet for the entire shift
• Use of hands and arms for repetitive motions
• Safely lift 50 lbs.
• Comfortable using basic technology,Email, Square POS, Excel, StillHouse etc.

• Must be 21 years of age.

• Self motivated and able to complete tasks without supervision
• Heavy equipment experience is a plus but not required

Education / Experience

• High school education or GED required.
• 2 years similar work experience preferred but not required
• Strong Problem solving skills
• Willing to train the right candidate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
