Job Summary
Buena Vista Construction Company (BVCC) is a business entity within Walt Disney World that provides Construction Management and General Contracting expertise to support facility, show and ride enhancements, and refurbishments. The Associate Material Specialist is responsible for procuring construction materials and supplies through our procurement system.
You will report to Sr Planner, Buena Vista Construction Company.
Responsibilities/You Will
- Partner with construction management, field operations, and estimating teams to formulate buying approaches
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from prospective sub-contractors and vendors
- Initiate and complete buying and receiving cycle in the company’s purchasing system including payments to close out
- Track purchases that support the reporting
- Assist vendors and subcontractors in the resolution of any purchasing issues
- Support any improvements or enhancements to the procurement processes
Basic Qualifications/You Will Have
- One to two years of confirmed experience in casual buying
- Proficiency in using purchasing systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with SAP
Preferred Qualifications/You Will Have
- Construction knowledge
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent certification
