We are seeking an Associate Creative Director with deep experience in photography and video commissioning for streaming platforms to join our Apple TV creative team and oversee editorial photography and video. You’re a seasoned photography pro — equal parts creative and practical tactician — who knows how great key photography is conceived and carried out. You understand how the streaming industry works, know which shows and artists are doing innovative work, and have a vision for how new approaches to photography and moving art will set Apple TV apart from the rest. Flexibility, creative problem solving and attention to detail are a must. Above all, you are enthusiastic about the Apple brand and relentless in preserving its authenticity.
Key Qualifications
- Expert in commissioning all different types of photography including celebrity portraiture, key, conceptual, unit, and sports, working with photographers of all levels all around the world
- Forward thinking about the future of photography and how new types of photography, video art and photo/motion hybrids could be powerful creative tools
- Expert at the intricacies of photo shoot production for TV and movies including fee standards and negotiation, contracts, crew booking, and logistics of working within show sets and union rules
- Able to oversee creative direction on set, make hard calls, balance competing interests, and deliver back excellent work
- Advanced understanding of how to tailor art to different platforms, devices and audiences. Experience working with personalization of artwork across demographics
- Up-to-date on the photographers and directors shaping the aesthetic of streaming culture today
- Significant experience shooting celebrities and working with their teams, agents, and managers.
- Meticulous budget management
- Clear and concise communication skills
- Highly collaborative, great to work with on a team, and value building great relationships
- Keen ability to create work under minimal supervision, as well as package and present solutions to wider creative teams
Description
The Media Products Design team conceptualizes, designs and creates the content experiences for some of Apple’s most visible products. Your ideas can impact the way people consume media products, what they look and feel like and how they’re used by hundreds of millions of people across the world.
Education & Experience
Degree in BS/BA Photography, Film or New Media preferred
Additional Requirements
- Portfolio required with examples of original photo and/or video commissions that reflect a consistent, A+ taste level and excellent execution
