Associate Medical Director - Hospitalist Medicine Physician Job description

Location: Henry Ford Jackson Hospital, Jackson MI 49201

Clinical responsibilities: 145 shifts/year

Pay: $1,300 per day shift; $1,600 per night shift

Admin: $50,000 annual salary/stipend in addition to above shift pay

Bonus: $28,500 year end, metrics based

Our Hospital Medicine Team has an opportunity for a full-time physician to join our Hospitalist team at Henry Ford Jackson Hospital as Associate Medical Director.

Associate Medical Director will work with the Medical Director and Program Director to:

  • Provide guidance and input with physician staffing schedules as needed. Participate in efforts to assure timely medical record documentation and completion.
  • Assist in organizing regular clinical Hospitalist Service meetings for physicians and clinical, professional and administrative staff assigned to the Hospitalist Service Line to address and review quality of care issues.
  • Assist in the development of, assume accountability for the ongoing implementation of, and develop remedial plans of correction/improvement of, the performance criteria mutually agreed upon by the Parties
  • Participate in an administrative on call schedule
  • Participate in weekly leadership meeting (Level 10)
  • Work with the medical director to develop and implement clinical management protocols (pathways) for the Hospitalist and CDU service.
  • Represent the Medical Director when they are not available.
  • Work with the medical director to review all providers' clinical documentation and provide feedback and complete FPPEs (in chart of quality) as needed by the health system.

  • Participate in program orientation for new hires.
  • Encourage a culture of best practice, evidence-based medicine
