Position Description:
The Assistant Director of Slot Operations will engage in a development program designed to provide exposure to various areas of Slot Operations. The program will develop and enhance Slot Operations knowledge and organizational strategy to create beneficial impact for business departments. The Assistant Director role, under the mentorship of various property leaders, will develop business acumen of Slot Operations functions and form business partnerships throughout the Boyd enterprise.

  • Must be able and willing and to relocate to any Boyd property.
  • Performs functions of each Slot Operations area while developing leadership skills.
  • Acquire expertise in business processes, procedures, and policies to advise property partners and business areas.
  • Create reports to provide feedback and recommendations in each rotation to improve efficiency and avoid redundant work.
  • Research, draft, and implement Slot Operations policies and procedures.
  • Meet and confer with business areas to forecast upcoming Slot Operations projects.
  • Strategize and develop work plans utilizing available tools and processes efficiently, to include productive use of hotel staff resources.
  • Participate in mentorship activities in each Slot Operations area to enhance both upstream and downstream knowledge and skills.
  • Engages with property leaders to demonstrate knowledge of how Slot Operations contributes to crucial business decisions throughout the organization.
  • Completes projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Develops the knowledge and skills required to be successful in all Slot Operations disciplines through hands-on experience across various lines of business in the organization.
  • Builds peer and mentor relationships to provide ongoing coaching and development feedback throughout rotational assignments.
  • Gains broader Slot Operations understanding of property operation functions.
  • Utilizes academic knowledge, skills, and experience to apply tactics and strategies to solve real business challenges for a mission driven asset management organization.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 1+ years’ experience in slots or casino operations.
  • Ability to relocate.
  • Must have strong analytical skills.
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. Performance of this job will take place in both an office setting as well as the casino floor. Jobholder will be exposed to certain casino-related environmental factors including but not limited to noise, second-hand smoke, and varied degrees of lighting.
  • Diverse business experience with significant administrative responsibilities in a major corporation with multiple units.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary certifications and/or licenses as required by local gaming regulations.
