Overview:
Athena SWC is a privately owned subsidiary of The Bonadio Group. Athena provides an outsourced marketing and sales infrastructure to manufacturers and B2B technical selling environments that require a more structured approach to their front-end sales cycle. Athena’s outsourced infrastructure resources are leveraged to help customers optimize their sales funnel and ultimately their sales.

Athena SWC is seeking a Finance Manager to be responsible for the planning, directing, and coordinating of all accounting operational functions. This individual will work with Sales and Client Service (Ops) leadership and support team to develop engagement related scope, pricing and proposals, and account renewals to achieve Athena business plan profit margins; and will manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
Responsibilities:
Operational related responsibilities:
  • Develop engagement scope, fee, and target margins for proposals and customer renewals
  • Develop and monitor customer engagement budget and fee performance
  • Develop and work with Quality Assurance Manager to monitor customer engagement call related and lead performance metrics
  • Develop and review service offer related costs and capacity requirements, and establish service offer fees and target margins for existing and new services
  • Assess current accounting operations and internal control systems; offer recommendations for improvement and implementation of new processes
  • Interface weekly with Director of Ops and Quality Assurance Manager to review and act on issues including work-flow scheduling, account renewals, new account scheduling, capacity needs, staff compensation, etc.
  • Update/report monthly and/or on-demand, What-if revenue, capacity, and expense projections
  • Review, reconcile, and authorize customer monthly cycle billing
  • Review and approve monthly credit card expenditures and distribution
  • Review receivables each month, and assist Managing Director with collections and credit related decisions
  • Complete sales commission schedules for Managing Director’s review and approval
  • Interface with Managing Director and Director of Ops on all compensation matters/adjustments and profit-sharing payouts; including staff notifications
  • Interface with Managing Director and Director of Ops to evaluate new vendors/services; and to develop new service offers (process definitions, pricing, target margins)
  • Participate in special projects as directed by Managing Director such as: the development of a management reporting system; strategic planning, etc.
General Accounting related responsibilities:
  • Prepare internal and external financial reporting
  • Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process
  • Direct and work with sales and Ops to execute the annual budgeting process and monthly budget performance reviews
  • Prepare quarterly Board meeting financial presentations
  • Maintain Fixed Asset sub-ledger
  • Interface with The Bonadio Group finance team as required in areas of cash planning, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank and checking accounts, capital accounts, Investor accounts, Bonadio I/C activity, payroll, audit activity, and tax related matters
Qualifications:
Required:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Finance Managership role or progressive experience in a high-level accounting function including areas of planning and budgeting, cost analysis, and information management systems
  • A minimum bachelors degree in accounting and/or finance
  • Solid communication, technology, analytical, business process, organizational and management skills, and demonstrate strong orientation to detail and deadlines
Preferred:
  • Masters degree in business administration or CPA/CMA designations
  • Previous experience in public accounting

Hours Of Operation:

  • Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Our summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday
