Automotive Fleet Mechanic

Mechanic to maintain and repair fleet vehicles for an equipment dealership that provides sales and service. All maintenance and repair work performed on site at our company garage.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum 3 years of experience in a professional automotive fleet mechanic environment. This is to include strong working knowledge of basic auto/light trucks repairs and diagnostic skills. The ideal candidate will also have strong organizational abilities and prioritizing skills, and have a large selection of hand, air and diagnostic tools that line up with the desired experience.

Responsibilities include perform maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on cars, trucks, off-road equipment and small tools in a safe, efficient, quality minded and customer focused manner. The candidate will need to be able to give clear and concise communication with the shop manager. As described, the job includes a diverse set of responsibilities and when filled by the ideal candidate will provide opportunity for continued growth and advancement within the organization's fleet structure.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing of mechanical operations for all equipment (gas and diesel), trucks, trailers, parts, shop and tools
  • PA state inspection license are preferred
  • Working with a variety of light to medium-duty vehicles and equipment
  • Conducting preventative maintenance requiring standing and lifting
  • Diagnosing issues through observation
  • Completion of PA State Inspections
  • Diagnosing and repairing systems and electrical issues
  • Perform repair work on vehicles such as breakdowns, malfunctions, and emergency roadside repair in a safe, efficient, and quality manner
  • Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit
  • Ability to handle and use a variety of tools and small equipment
  • Must be able to move safely about, in, and around construction vehicles and equipment
  • Maintain a clean work area and pick up all tools and equipment to secure the work area each day

  • Punctual and reliable
  • Willing to learn new skills
  • Adhere to company Safety Policy including use of personal safety equipment i.e. safety glasses, face shields, gloves and hard hats
  • Able to work outside 8-10 hours a day – overtime and weekend as needed
  • Able to operate and use various types of power tools and landscape equipment
  • Valid driver’s license preferred – (Higher rate)
  • Pay based off experience
  • Drivers must have a clean driving record, pass a drug test and medical exam
  • Must also have reliable transportation to and from work, be authorized to work in the United States, and be able to lift 50+ lbs
