Meaning “second born” in Balinese, ma·dé is located in the heart of SoHo at 22 Spring Street next door from the couple’s beloved Indonesian restaurant Wayan. At ma·dé, Cédric will serve a menu of fresh seafood & vegetable- centric dishes that emphasize global flavors and ingredients from diverse corners of the world, including Japan, France, The Americas, Indonesia, and more. ma·dé's interiors are warm yet bright and airy, inspired by the elegant style of Bali’s coastal beach.
We are looking to hire a small group of highly effective individuals that can barback and run food. We will be providing a unique experience and having the ability to go between both positions is key to providing the service style that we are trying to achieve.
- Full time position
- Previous restaurant experience required (1+ Manhattan experience preferred)
- Flexible availability on nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Employee must perform the opening and closing duties required of them
- Must be knowledgeable about the food and beverage menus along with the items’ preparations, ingredients, and sourcing.
- Must be passionate about cocktails and have a basic understanding of wine
- Will be required to prepare juice, bar syrups, and garnishes.
- Will be required to stock and organize wine and liquor bottles.
- Will occasionally be asked to prepare cocktails.
- Barback must be willing to work together with their Front of House and Back of House teammates.
- Employee must follow the instruction of the bartenders as long as it fits within their job description
- Must be willing to assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the restaurant
- Position will require the employee to climb up and down stairs multiple times throughout a shift
- Position will require the employee to carry items weighing 30lbs-50lbs
