McCain Food’s facility in Burley, Idaho is a large-scale food processing plant, employing approximately 700 employees. This site specializes in the production of frozen potato products. Fun Fact: 1 in 4 French fries are produced by McCain Foods.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the manufacturing of battered products that meet all quality specifications. This is accomplished through the efficient operation of all batter equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operates and maintains all equipment related to the application, removal and recovery of batter.
• Insures ingredients and formulations outlined in the product specifications are properly followed.
• Collects samples and inspects product for conformance to quality requirements.
• Responsible for all clean up activities on all batter related equipment and their associated areas. Must work effectively with fryer operator and ingredient mixing attendant.
• Performs preventative maintenance and minor maintenance on machinery.
• Accurately enters all information into computer tracking system and completes all records and reports.
• Evaluates problems and confers with supervision to determine appropriate action.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as an Operator in a potato processing facility is a plus.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Must have ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Must have demonstrated computer skills and experience with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking is required.
• Requires obtaining and maintaining a factory issued forklift operator’s license.
• Obtain certification through the Operator Training Program.
• Must have computer skills for data entry and electronic tracking requirements.

Physical Demand:

Constant: Stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.

Frequently: Sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.

Occasionally: Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close visions, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
