Description

The People and Culture Team at Verily (PACT) is looking for a seasoned Benefits Manager. This position will report to the Head of Total Rewards. In this role, you will lead the strategic design, implementation, and administration of our global benefits and wellness offerings to ensure they are comprehensive and competitive, while helping us find new ways to improve the employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the design, implementation, administration and enhancement of holistic benefit & wellness strategy and programs that are compliant and market competitive. Programs will include, yet are not limited to; wellbeing, healthcare, time-off and leaves, retirement and life insurance.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand local or nuanced benefits needs and the external market competitiveness of Verily's global benefits offerings. Conduct research of market trends, participate in benefits surveys and stay abreast of emerging benefits trends to maintain a competitive benefits portfolio while providing analytical feedback of which decisions can be based off of.
  • Develop and lead vendor relationships and performance that support benefit offerings; this includes problem solving across process, people, data, and technology, negotiation, auditing, error resolution and process improvements to ensure excellent benefit offerings for Verily employees.
  • Manage end-to-end benefits administration including maintaining benefits invoicing, internal audits, open enrollment, benefits and wellness-related communications, and hosting benefits orientation for new hires. Complete all necessary compliance requirements (e.g. filing 5500, Non-discrimination testing, OSHA reporting, hosting of trainings etc.).
  • Develop innovative and effective health and well-being solutions at scale to support the needs of distributed managers and teams; build accurate and robust reporting and metrics that help drive those well-being initiatives. Include DEI lens to further enhance employees' daily lives.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 7+ years of benefits administration experience (global benefits a plus).
  • Experience in vendor management.
  • Experience managing projects and programs.
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, PPACA and federal and state laws regarding benefits and compliance (e.g. ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, etc.).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge in benefits plan design and administration
  • Experience leading, driving and iterating benefits and wellness programs in a dynamic multinational company. Proven track record in directing staff/consultants and negotiating contracts/agreements.
  • Significant experience leading customer or healthcare provider facing projects, including business process design, business integration and information technology. Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills; ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across multiple offices and vendors.
  • Experience exercising independent judgment and discretion while using company policies and practices to analyze situations, spot potential issues and determine appropriate action
  • Familiarity with Workday and Google Suite.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $148,000 - $236,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
