JOB TITLE: Bilingual Bookkeeper

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time
STATUS: Hourly; Non-exempt
HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday
COMPENSATION: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs bookkeeping and administrative tasks, as well as serving clients and visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone, transferring calls, and answering inquiries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but may not be limited to the following):

  • Bookkeeping (entering data, creating journal entries, producing financial statements)
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, data entry, phone calls, appointment scheduling, etc.
  • Welcome clients and visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; transferring calls; and answering inquiries
  • Maintain an organized reception area
  • Update appointments and schedules by inputting data accurately
  • Support staff with administrative needs
  • Prepare files for clients
  • Ensure supplies are stocked and re-order when necessary
  • Distribute mail and faxes
  • Other general administration duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), required
  • Some college coursework completed, preferred
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of related experience
  • 3 Years Bookkeeping experience is required
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish is required

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 3 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English and Spanish is required
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Ability to work in a busy environment during tax season
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent keyboarding skills (ability to type 40 words per minute at a minimum)
  • Ability to analyze information and deal with complexity
  • Attention to details and thoroughness
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
  • Ability to operate calculator, computer, and other general office equipment
  • Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential
  • Reliable transportation is a must, as travel to client offices is required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Light to moderate physical activity performing non-strenuous activities of an administrative nature to include:

  • Working in a well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation
  • Using manual dexterity sufficient to handle/reach items and works with fingers
  • Using close/distance/peripheral and depth perception
