Position Summary

The Statistical Demand Modeler position is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products across multiple brands and customers. The Statistical Demand Modeler creates and maintains forecasting models, incorporating business intelligence, and forecast information gathered from demand planner, sales, marketing, and other sources. The Demand Modeler partners with the Demand Planners to identify, implement, and deliver forecasting solutions which provide the optimized levels of both near and long-term forecast accuracy across the business unit.

Priorities & Responsibilities

• Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function
• Improve the JDA forecasting solution through rigorous statistical analysis, incorporation of business insights and implementation of new and innovative ideas on the technological/statistical front
• Design, implement, test, and deploy JDA code to enhance the forecasting solution in production environment
• Partner with Demand Planners to ensure that the statistical forecasting solution effectively provides business insights & learnings
• Conduct deep dive projects to incorporate business insights into optimizing JDA forecasting parameters to improve forecast quality
• Support day-to-day activities to resolve demand planner issues through statistical root cause analysis and other creative approaches
• Document and present existing and new functionality as well as results of statistical and other technical analysis to internal customers
• Support the weekly execution of forecasting processes
• Contribute to vision and roadmap for sustaining continuous forecasting excellence
• Explore opportunities in the use of analytics in DP

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Extensive experience using statistical analysis and hands-on modeling using BY/JDA Demand solution
• Experience in creating statistical forecasts: gather, analyze and validate data, execute statistical BY/JDA modeling software (or similar), review result, apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting, summarize/aggregate statistical forecasts
• Extensive experience with developing and maintaining statistical models
• Industry Experience preferred
• Ability to work very effectively in an independent as well as team environment

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in economics, supply chain, engineering, finance, or other analytical field.

Experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Demand Planning
