Salary Range: $70,000-$90,000 – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized, award-winning professional services consulting firm is experiencing unprecedented growth, and we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Building Performance Engineer.
Responsibilities:
The BPE will prepare energy analysis and provide building performance design consulting for commercial new construction projects and major renovations for high performance and net zero energy projects.
Charged with helping project teams meet the energy and mechanical design related green building certification requirements, the BPE is responsible for coordination with project teams and certification organizations (e.g. GBCI, ILFI, IWBI, CHFA, etc.). This includes assisting with sustainable design workshops, conducting drawing and specification reviews, writing narratives, reviewing construction submittals, communicating with clients and more.
Travel may be required for this position.
Qualifications:
A successful candidate must have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mechanical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- At least two years of experience
- Understanding of current ASHRAE guidelines and energy code requirements
- Ability to read and understand construction documents, floor plans, specifications, and details. Travel may be required for this position.
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
- 2 + year for building performance engineering
- OpenStudio / Energy Plus experience
- Ruby or Python experience
- REVIT and Sketchup experience
- Homer, ReOpt or RetScreen experience
- LEED AP
- EIT or PE
- BEMP
