The Business Analyst is responsible for evaluating Credit Union business systems and processes, eliciting business requirements, identifying options for improving business systems, and bridging the needs of the Credit Union with the needs of the staff and the needs of the members. A Business Analyst will serve in a leadership and/or advisory capacity for select projects and process improvement initiatives, as determined by their supervisor. A Business Analyst is highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to prioritize, organize, multi-task, and work independently to solve problems. This is all done within the confines of the credit union's policies, goals, and vision.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in cooperation with Project Manager to identify known risks and develop mitigating strategies prior to a new or changing service, vendor, product, or other process.
- Gain an understanding of Credit Union business processes, systems, and operations relevant to a project’s goals.
- Document existing processes to help refine the problem and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assist in updating any policies or procedures associated with recommendations for improvement or upcoming projects.
- Develop an understanding of the structure, policies, and operations of the organization to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.
- Assist in the change management facilitation process by considering a problem or request from an organizational viewpoint, instead of the direct viewpoint of a specific department.
- Actively participate in discovery discussions for upcoming projects.
- Work with project owners to ensure the necessary due diligence, risk assessments, business cases or other required documents are completed and approved before project approval.
- Identifies known risk and develops mitigating strategies. Along with the Risk Department, manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
- Provide findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

- Must be able to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Stay abreast of any new products and services that would enhance the services WCCU offers.
- Advises project leaders on the best use of project and process methodologies, tools, templates, and procedures.
- Acts as a change agent to help continue driving the culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Provides organization-wide support such as strategic planning, resource management, meeting prep, tool creation, and other items as needed.
- Develops a strong working relationship with all departments.
- Actively participate on committees relevant to position to provide relevant recommendations for change and process improvement.
- Responds to employee questions, concerns, and complaints.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all information.
- Adheres to applicable general Credit Union policies and procedures.
- Looks for opportunities to sell and/or refer Credit Union products and services to members and prospective members.
- § Maintains a neat and orderly work area and ensures that all confidential records are properly secured.
- Keeps abreast of changes in field of expertise; participate in ongoing professional development.
- Fully comply with all information security procedures set forth by WCCU.
- Other job-related duties as may be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of this position.
Work Relationships and Scope: Reports directly to the Senior Project Manager. Has direct contact with Management and all other staff directly associated with analysis and recommendations. Will work occasionally with product providers.

- Ability to travel independently within the credit union's field of membership with valid WI driver license and dependable transportation. Capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
- Is punctual, flexible, reliable, and demonstrates a friendly and helpful attitude.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Education/ Experience / Training:
- Advanced education in Business Analysis, Business Management, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field; or combination of education & experience.
- Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of related work experience is preferred. Experience in a credit union or banking environment is ideal.
- Experience with process improvement, business process mapping of current and future states, and business requirements analysis in a credit union or banking environment.
- Highly resourceful and know when/how to be assertive to make progress, but able to remain calm, composed, and flexible in challenging circumstances.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both oral and written are essential.
- Proven ability to exercise independent judgement for decision making and creative problem-solving.
- Strong familiarity with process improvement and project management principles and disciplines.
- Technically competent with various software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Knowledge of programming languages, networks, and operating systems, in a general sense would be ideal
- Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential for projecting a positive image as a representative of the Credit Union.
- Ability to work with a wide range of personalities in a courteous, effective, and efficient manner.
- Knowledge and ability to apply current financial service industry standards, laws, and regulations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, to present ideas and to report facts and technical information.
- Ability to maintain stable and courteous business relations with vendors, employees, etc.
